The aim of Ambrela's public awareness campaign titled ‘Faces of Migration’, within the three-year project 'Global Goals and Migration', is to increase awareness among Slovaks about diversity, tolerance, and to explain the reasons for and benefits of people from different cultures living together through specific life stories. We must also speak openly about the causes and routes of migration (mainly forced migration) and show what people experience when fleeing war and why they need support. Since the end of February, when the Russian military invasion of Ukraine began, the topic of fleeing has become unavoidable—children and young people ask about it at home and at school—and our member, observer, and partner organisations, as well as the Ambrela secretariat itself, responded accordingly with their activities.
One of the project activities is also the publication of materials for schools: the ‘edu kit’, with support from the EU through the DEAR programme and from Slovakia through SlovakAid.
