The Benefits of Ethical Education to Pedagogical and Social Practice

The aim of the paper was to point to the benefits of ethical education in pedagogical and social practice from the perspective of the development of prosocial personality. In this professional paper, we address the role of ethical education in human life and its contribution to pedagogical practice. We focus on the analysis of the development of a prosocial personality as the primary goal of ethical education, and in the paper we present concrete worksheets for ethics lessons aimed at the development of prosocial personality. We indicate the importance of developing a pupil’s prosocial personality, its benefits for the teacher, the parent, and the society in which the pupil lives, and to which the pupil transfers the knowledge and insights gained in the school environment. At the same time, the paper highlights an inspiring model of experiential learning in ethical education, which serves as motivation for innovation in informal education also in other subjects.
