The emerging needs of children and youth

Abstrakt: Cieľom článku je priblížiť súčasnú situáciu detí a mládeže v oblasti novo vynárajúcich sa potrieb, ktoré aktuálne pociťujú. V rámci článku popisujeme výskum, ktorý bol realizovaný ako súčasť diplomovej práce. Výskum bol realizovaný na juhu stredného Slovenska v meste Rimavská Sobota a to konkrétne s participantmi zo Strednej odbornej školy technickej a agropotravinárskej v Rimavskej Sobote, v Centre pre deti a rodiny Rimavská Sobota, v Centre voľného času Relax a v Základnej škole Dobšinského Rimavská Sobota. Celkový počet participantov bol 89 pričom vek participantov sa pohyboval v rozmedzí od 12 do 17 rokov. Zámerom tohto zisťovania bolo zistiť potreby detí a mládeže priamo od detí a mládeže výskumným skúmaním s prihliadaním na ich komfort. V rámci kvalitatívnej stratégie sme využili metódu polo-štruktúrovaného rozhovoru v rámci fokusovej skupiny.
Naše zistenia je možné využiť v oblasti vzdelávania v sociálnej práci v zorientovaní sa v situácii detí a mládeže v Rimavskej Sobote a ako podklad na písanie publikácií týkajúcich sa novej generácie detí a ich potrieb.

Abstract: The aim of the article is to bring closer the current situation of children and youth in the field of emerging needs that they currently feel. In the article we describe the research that was carried out as part of the thesis. The research was carried out in the south of central Slovakia in the town of Rimavská Sobota, specifically with participants from the Secondary Vocational School of Technology and Agri-Food in Rimavská Sobota, the Rimavská Sobota Center for Children and Families, the Relax Leisure Center and the Dobšinský Primary School in Rimavská Sobota. The total number of participants was 89, with the age of participants ranging from 12 to 17 years. The purpose of this survey was to identify the needs of children and young people directly from children and young people through research, taking into account their comfort. As part of the qualitative strategy, we used the method of semi-structured interview within the focus group. Our findings can be used in the field of education in social work to orientate oneself in the situation of children and youth in Rimavská Sobota and as a basis for writing publications concerning the new generation of children and their needs.

Trust as an important factor of patient's mental well-being during hospitalization

Abstrakt:
Východiská: Na súbore 190 pacientov s kardiovaskulárnym ochorením (KVO) sme zisťovali uspokojovanie vybraných psychosociálnych potrieb počas hospitalizácie. Zamerali sme sa na úroveň dôvery pacientov voči zdravotníckemu personálu. Súbor sme na základe stupňa dôvery rozdelili na skupinu pacientov s vysokou a priemernou úrovňou dôvery k zdravotníckemu personálu.
Súbor a metódy: Súbor pozostával zo 190 pacientov, z toho bolo 59 žien a 131 mužov. Na zber údajov sme použili neštandardizovaný dotazník, zostavený pre potreby tohto výskumu, ktorý obsahoval otvorené, polootvorené a škálované položky. Vyhli sme sa eticky sporným položkám. Návratnosť dotazníkov bola 100%.
Výsledky: V našom súbore pacientov vykazovalo 26% priemernú úroveň a 74% pacientov vysokú úroveň dôvery voči zdravotníckemu personálu. Pri porovnávaní výsledkov hodnotenia spokojnosti medzi skupinami sme zistili štatisticky signifikantné rozdiely vo vnímaní uspokojovania vybraných psychosociálnych potrieb.
Záver: Pacienti s priemernou úrovňou dôvery počas hospitalizácie intenzívnejšie vnímali stres, slabšie hodnotili podporu zo strany zdravotníkov, horšie hodnotili úroveň komunikácie a prístup personálu, udávali nižšiu mieru informovanosti o ochorení a liečbe, hodnotili uspokojovanie psychických potrieb počas hospitalizácie ako nedostatočné.

Abstract:
Introduction: Trust can be defined as relying on others, a certain expectation of future situations, an authentic relationship with clear communication. During patient care, it does not make sense to look for a focus of cooperation unless a sufficiently confidential and open relationship is established. A good relationship between the patient and the nurse has a great influence on the patient's perception of the disease and treatment. Trust is a part of the emotional support, it is the basis of mutual productive communication in the relationship between nurse and patient.
Aims: In this cross-cestional study we addressed 190 patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVD), we wanted to evaluete the level of patients' trust in nursing staff during the nursing process, and we also verified the satisfaction of psychosocial needs during hospitalization.
Methods: At the Department of Acute Cardiology and Coronary Unite, In the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Bratislava. In this cross-sectional study we used a non-standardized questionnaire to collect data and evaluete the trust and satisfaction of psychosocial needs in 190 patients with CVD.
Results: In this study, 26% of patients had an average level and 74% of patients a high level of trust in nursing staff. Based on the comparison of responses between groups, we found statistically significant values at the level of significance α = 0.05 in the perception of psychosocial needs. The age of the patients was 57.38 ± 9.59 (SD) years, 69% of respondents were men and 31% were women. The length of hospital stay was 4.8 ± 3.03 (SD) days.
Conclusion: Clinical practice in the acute ward and intensive care unit places increased demands on the nurse not only on professional skills, but also on the holistic perception of the patient. In clinical practice, it is necessary for the nurse to approach the patient holistically, to know and accept his needs in all areas. If healthcare professionals do not take a holistic approach, the patient may feel uninterested. This can greatly disrupt patient-nurse relationships and thus impair collaboration. By using psychosocial interventions, the nurse contributes to comprehensive nursing care, to a better relationship between the nurse and the patient, and thus to higher trust on the part of the patient. By gaining trust, it contributes to the optimization of the treatment process, easier solution of the patient's problems by the nursing staff.

Astrocyty jsou pomocné buňky hvězdicovitého tvaru (astrum = hvězda), které jsou hlavně významné pro zásobování neuronů všemi potřebnými látkami od glukózy až po vodu, také se zásadním způsobem podílejí na opravných pochodech a jak se nyní ukazuje, mohou s farmakologickým přispěním pomoci ovlivnit koktavost.

Striatum je oblast mozku hluboko zanořené šedé hmoty a jeho hlavní význam je v regulaci volních pohybů.

Koktavost projevující se od dětství je spojena s nadbytkem neurotransmiteru dopaminu ve striatu. Neuroleptikum nazvané risperidon snižuje množství dopaminu v mozku a je využíváno při léčbě poruch způsobených (mimo jiné také) nadbytkem dopaminu. Vědci z Riversade University v Kalifornii a amerického Národního ústavu zdraví zjistili, že podání risperidonu vede ke zvýšené aktivitě astrocytů ve striatu a tím se snižují koncentrace dopaminu a zlepšuje verbální projev postižených osob.

Různé experimentální metody údajně vyvolávající stres byly metaanalyticky sledovány. Šlo o 31 studií s použitím funkční magnetické rezonance, kdy zátěžové testy byly aplikovány celkem 1279 pokusným osobám a zjišťována přitom aktivace mozkových struktur podílejících se na stresové odpovědi. Sledované oblasti zahrnovaly následující struktury:
Insula je mimo jiné spojena s vnímáním bolesti, sebeuvědoměním a sociálním vnímáním a integruje smyslové a vnitřní emoční informace. Dále se podílí na řízení reakce na hormonální stres.
Claustrum je také zodpovědné za integraci různých informací a je důležité pro vědomí. Aktivace těchto regionů podle výzkumníků naznačuje, že účastníci studie směřují svou pozornost směrem dovnitř na své emoční procesy, když jsou ve stresu.
Dolní frontální gyrus je zodpovědný za sémantické a fonologické zpracování a za pracovní paměť. „K aktivaci pravděpodobně dochází, protože mnoho metod vyžaduje náročné kognitivní úkoly.
Nucleus lentiformis; toto jádro je spojeno s pohybem a koordinací. Jeho role v kontextu stresu není známa. „Spekulujeme, že akutní stres vede ke zvýšení celkového svalového napětí a přípravě na možnou reakci na boj nebo útěk,“ vysvětluje Gesa Berretz.

Emotional responses to the Covid-19 pandemic media reports: Comparisons based on media exposure and the phases of easing the anti-epidemic measures

Abstrakt: Predmetná štúdia analyzuje súvislosť medzi sledovaním správ o pandémii koronavírusu a emocionálnym prežívaním jednotlivcov a tiež mierou ich súhlasu s prijatými opatreniami. Pomocou dotazníka vlastnej konštrukcie bola zisťovaná frekvencia sledovania správ a jej súvis so šiestimi primárnymi a sekundárnymi emóciami: strach, obavy, hnev, smútok, panika, frustrácia a zvedavosť. Sekundárne ciele boli zamerané na analýzu premenných vzhľadom na fázy uvoľňovania reštriktívnych opatrení na Slovensku. Výskum bol realizovaný na vzorke N=458 respondentov (vek M=40,6; 92,6% žien). Na základe štatistických analýz bolo zistené, že existuje štatisticky významný rozdiel v miere prežívania strachu (H=26,746; p<0,001), obáv (H=25,199; p<0,001), smútku (H=15,264; p<0,001) a zvedavosti (H=56,324; p<0,001) vzhľadom na frekvenciu sledovania správ ohľadom Covid-19 pandémie a v miere prežívania obáv (H=7,575; p<0,023), smútku (H=8,951; p<0,011) a frustrácie (H=11,101; p<0,004) vzhľadom na fázy uvoľňovania reštriktívnych opatrení. Miera výskumných premenných klesala s nižšou frekvenciou sledovania správ a s uvoľňovaním reštriktívnych opatrení v čase. Medzi frekvenciou sledovania správ a mierou súhlasu s prijatými protiepidemickými opatreniami boli zistený slabý korelačný vzťah.

Abstract: The present study analyses the relationship between exposure to media news on Covid-19 pandemic and the emotional experiences of individuals, as well as the extent to which they agree with the measures taken. Using a purposely designed questionnaire, the frequency of media use and its association with six primary and secondary emotions - fear, worry, anger, sadness, panic, frustration and curiosity, was examined. The secondary objectives were focused on the analysis of variables with respect to the phases of dismantling of restrictive measures in Slovakia. The research was conducted on a sample of N = 458 respondents (mean age = 40.6; 92.6% women). Based on statistical analysis, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the frequency of experiencing fear (H = 26.746; p <0.001), worry (H = 25.199; p <0.001), sadness (H = 15.264; p <0.001) and curiosity ( H = 56.324; p <0.001) with respect to the frequency of exposure to the media news about Covid-19 pandemic and there was also a significant difference in the frequency of experiencing worry (H = 7.575; p <0.023), sadness (H = 8.951; p <0.011) and frustration (H = 11.101; p <0.004) with respect to the phases of dismantling of the restrictive measures. The rate of research variables decreased with lower media exposure and with the dismantling of restrictive measures over time. A weak correlation was found between the frequency of exposure to media news and the level of agreement with anti-epidemic measures taken.

Subjective versus objective obstacles in goal achievement

Abstrakt: Predložená štúdia za cieľ kategorizovať a obsahovo popísať konkrétne prekážky, ktoré vstupujú do procesu dosahovania cieľa na základe obsahovej analýzy 1507 odpovedí respondentov. Ako základné kritérium klasifikácie bola zvolená príčina, ktorá rozdeľuje prekážky na objektívne a subjektívne. Dáta boli získané od vzorky 542 respondentov vo veku 18 až 34 rokov. Z objektívnych interferujúcich premenných dominovali najmä aktuálne situačné prekážky, napríklad nadmerná administratívna záťaž. Pri subjektívnych prekážkach mali najväčšie zastúpenie tie, ktoré odrážali aktuálny psychický a fyzický stav jedinca, napríklad v podobe stresu alebo aktuálnej psychickej nepohody.

Abstract: The present study aimed to categorize and describe the specific obstacles that enter the process of goal achievement. The basic criterion for obstacles categorization was based on its cause, what divided the obstacles into objective and subjective. Data were obtained from a sample of 542 respondents aged 18 to 34 years. Content analysis of 1507 responses was conducted. Of the objective interfering variables, current situational barriers, such as excessive administrative burdens, dominated. In the case of subjective obstacles, those that reflected the current mental and physical condition of the individual were the most represented, for example in the form of stress or current mental discomfort.

Website of a healthcare facility as an information source for a surgical patient

Abstrakt:
Úvod: Obdobie posledných rokov je typické čoraz expanzívnejším využívaním informačno-komunikačných technológií a internetu. Tieto skutočnosti sa týkajú aj rezortu zdravotníctva a majú alebo môžu mať vplyv tiež na efektívnejšie poskytovanie informácií pacientom a kvalitnejšiu edukáciu.
Cieľ: Článok poukazuje na význam poskytovania informácií chirurgickým pacientom, výhody a nevýhody elektronických informačných zdrojov, ale predovšetkým prezentuje výsledky prieskumu, ktorého cieľom bolo zistiť, do akej miery nemocnice využívajú svoje internetové stránky na zverejňovanie informácií pre chirurgických pacientov.
Materiál a metódy: Na zber údajov bola použitá metóda obsahovej analýzy internetových stránok 71 ústavných zdravotníckych zariadení v Slovenskej republike.
Výsledky: 16 nemocníc má na svojej internetovej stránke v zložke pre pacientov alebo verejnosť uvedené informácie alebo inštrukcie adresované chirurgickým pacientom v rôznom rozsahu a obsahovom zameraní.
Záver: Predpokladmi zlepšenia poskytovania informácií chirurgickým pacientom prostredníctvom internetu sú počítačová gramotnosť personálu aj pacientov, adekvátne materiálno-technické vybavenie zdravotníckych zariadení, prístup na internet, kritická analýza zverejňovaných informácií, jazyková korektúra a grafická úprava.

Abstract:
Introduction: The period of recent years is characterized by the increasingly expansive use of information and communication technologies and the Internet. These facts also apply to the health sector and also have or may have an impact on more effective provision of information to patients and better education.
Aim: The article points out the importance of providing information to surgical patients, advantages and disadvantages of electronic information sources, but above all presents the results of a survey to find out to what extent hospitals use their websites to publish information to surgical patients.
Material and methods: The method of content analysis of the websites of 71 hospitals in the Slovak Republic was used for data collection.
Results: 16 hospitals have information or instructions addressed to surgical patients on their website in a folder for patients or the public, to varying degrees and in content.
Conclusion: Prerequisites for improving the provision of information to surgical patients via the Internet are computer literacy of staff and patients, adequate material and technical equipment of healthcare facilities, Internet access, critical analysis of published information, language correction and graphics design.

Drug Monitoring System - MSDL suitable for people who take long-term medication in social facilities and at home (research results)

Abstrakt: Hlavnou témou je monitorovací systém dávkovania liekov, zvaný ako MSDL, a liekový manažment v zariadeniach sociálnych služieb. Cieľom je poskytnúť základné informácie o liekovom manažmente, klientoch zariadení sociálnych služieb a predpisovaní nevhodných liekov. V rámci výskumu ide o preskúmanie manažmentu liekov v zariadeniach sociálnych služieb so zameraním na oblasti predpisovania, podávania a odpadu z liekov.

Second chance education in the action plans of the less developed districts' development of Slovakia

Abstrakt: Programy ďalšieho vzdelávania zamerané na osvojenie jednoduchých pracovných zručností udržiavajú dospelých s nízkou úrovňou kvalifikácie na neistých a málo platených pracovných miestach, bez možnosti získať si lepšie ohodnotenú kvalifikovanú prácu a zachovávajú generačný cyklus vylúčenia a chudoby. Vzdelávanie dospelých bez základného vzdelania (ISCED 100) a so základným vzdelaním (ISCED 244) je na Slovensku v gescii Ministerstva školstva, vedy, výskumu a športu, ale i Ministerstva práce sociálnych vecí a rodiny, nakoľko väčšinu dlhodobo nezamestnaných tvoria práve dospelí bez základného vzdelania a so základným vzdelaním. Vytvorenú možnosť pre dospelých získať vzdelanie, či zvýšiť si stupeň vzdelania, považujeme za jeden z krokov smerujúcich k prerušeniu generačného cyklu chudoby a v kontexte rozvoja regiónov a okresov Slovenska za jeden z faktorov ich dlhodobého a udržateľného rozvoja. V štúdii poskytujeme výsledky sekundárnej analýzy akčných plánov rozvoja menej rozvinutých okresov Slovenska, v ktorej sme sa zamerali na prisudzovaný význam druhošancového vzdelávania dospelých bez základného vzdelania (ISCED 100) a so základným vzdelaním (ISCED 244) pre rozvoj menej rozvinutých okresov Slovenska.

Abstract: The programs of further education concentrated on the acquiring of the simple working skills keep the adults having low level of qualification on unstable and poorly paid working positions, without an opportunity to gain a better-paid qualified job and they maintain the generation cycle of exclusion and poverty. Educating of adults without primary education (ISCED 100) and with primary education (ISCED 244) is in Slovakia under the control of Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport but also of Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family, because people, who are unemployed for a long time, are mainly adults without primary education and with primary education. We consider this opportunity for adults to gain education or increase their level of education to be one of the steps leading towards the interrupting of the generation cycle of poverty and, in the context of the development of regions and districts in Slovakia, to be one of the factors of their long-term and sustainable development. This study provides results of the secondary analysis of the actions plans of the less developed Slovakia's districts' development, in which we concentrated on the attributed meaning of the second chance education of adults without primary education (ISCED 100) and with primary education (ISCED 244) for the development of the less developed districts of Slovakia.

The employment of people with physical disabilities

Abstrakt: Článok poukazuje na možnosti zamestnania ľudí s fyzickým postihnutím z ich pohľadu. V teoretickej časti článku sú vymedzené pojmy čo je fyzické postihnutie a s ním spojené zamestnávanie. Spomenuté sú projekty, ktoré sa realizovali v Slovenskej republike na pomoc pri zamestnaní ľudí s fyzickým postihnutím. Vo výskumnej časti článku sú výsledky z kvalitatívneho výskumu, pri ktorom bola použitá metóda interview zameraná na ľudí s fyzickým postihnutím. Cieľom výskumu bolo zistiť, aké sú možnosti zamestnanosti ľudí s fyzickým postihnutím. V závere článku uvádzame konkrétne návrhy pre ľudí s fyzickým postihnutím na ďalšie možnosti zamestnávania ľudí s fyzickým postihnutím.

Abstract: The artcle ponits out the possibilities of employment of people with physical disabilities from their point of view. The theoretical part of the article defines the concepts of what is a physical disability and related employment. Mention is made of projects that have been implemented in the Slovak Republic to help employ people with physical disabilities. The research part of the article contains the results of qualitative research. The article uses a reaserch method of interviews focused on people with physical disabilities. The aim of the reaserch was to find out what are the employment opportunities of people with physical dosabilities. At the end of the article, we present specific suggestions for people with physical disabilities for other employment opportunities for people with physical disabilities.

Specifics of nursing care about oral cavity of oncology patients

Abstrakt:
Úvod: Liečba onkologických ochorení napriek tomu, že je veľa krát úspešná, prináša so sebou aj mnoho negatív. Najvýznamnejšie sú vedľajšie účinky chemoterapie a rádioterapie. Prejavy nežiaducich účinkov môžu byť včasné a neskoré, postihujú rôzne orgány a systémy. K veľmi obávaným komplikáciám patrí postihnutie ústnej dutiny. Zápal ústnej sliznice, defekty v oblasti jazyka, pier, porucha vnímania chuti, zníženie salivácie a i. znižujú kvalitu života pacientov. Preto je veľmi dôležitá včasná diagnostika, liečba a tímová starostlivosť. Predovšetkým v ústavnej starostlivosti je dôležitým členom tímu sestra.
Cieľ: Hlavným cieľom je prezentovať osobitosti ošetrovateľskej a tímovej starostlivosti o ústnu dutinu pacienta po onkostatickej liečbe. Čiastkové ciele sú: Poukázať na význam interdisciplinárnej starostlivosti pri liečbe onkologicky chorých. Porovnať starostlivosť o ústnu dutinu pacienta pri chemoterapii a rádioterapii.
Materiál a metódy: Hlavnou metódou bola prípadová štúdia. Doplňujúcimi metódami boli neštruktúrovaný a pološtruktúrovaný rozhovor, pozorovanie, analýza dokumentu, hodnotiace škály (VAS, Kritéria hodnotenia ťažkostí MDU podľa WHO, Kritéria hodnotení komplikácii v ústnej dutine a MDÚ podľa NCI CTC kritérií). Objektom výskumu boli pacienti liečení na Klinike radiačnej a klinickej onkológie ÚVN Ružomberok. Jeden pacient absolvoval chemoterapiu a druhý rádioterapiu. Výber pacientov bol zámerný.
Výsledky: Kvalitatívnou analýzou sme zistili, že obaja pacienti mali následkom liečby postihnutú ústnu dutinu. U prvého pacienta vznikla postradiačná mukozitída- edém, pálenie sliznice a mal porušené vnímanie chutí a sťažené prehĺtanie. Druhý pacient mal neutropéniu a toxickú mukozitídu. U oboch bola zahájená miestna a celková liečba ako aj úprava stravovacieho režimu. Počas hospitalizácie pacienta a ambulantnej liečbe došlo ku zmierneniu ťažkostí.
Záver: Starostlivosť o ústnu dutinu onkologicky chorých je veľmi dôležitá. Zahŕňa nielen liečbu postihnutej ústnej sliznice, ale významné sú i preventívne opatrenia a dôkladná hygiena ústnej dutiny. Sestry a lekári svojim zodpovedným prístupom a pravidelnou kontrolou významne prispievajú k identifikácii problému, včasnej liečbe, zlepšeniu komfortu a zdravotného stavu pacienta.

Abstract:
Introduction: The treatment of oncological illnesses despite it is many times successful bat brings too many negatives. The most important are the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The manifestations of side effects may be early and late, damage various organs and systems. A dreaded complication is the destruction of the oral cavity. Oral mucosal infection, tongue and lips defects, taste disturbance, decreased salivation and so on reduce the quality of life of patients. Therefore is very important early diagnostics, treatment and team care. Especially in institutional care is the nurse an important member of the interprofessional team.
Aim: The main aim was to present the specifics of nursing and team care of the oral cavity of a patient after oncostatic treatment. The partial goals were- To point out the importance of interdisciplinary care in the treatment of cancer patients. Compare oral care to patients after chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Material and research methods: The main method was case study. Additional methods were unstructured and semi-structured interviews, observation, document analysis, assessment scales (VAS, WHO MDU criteria, Oral Complication Assessment Criteria and MDIs according to NCI CTC criteria). The subjects of the research were patients treated at the Clinic of radiation and clinical oncology of UVN in Ružomberok. One patient was treated with chemotherapy and another radiotherapy. Patient selection was deliberate.
Results: By qualitative analysis we found that both patients had oral complication of cancer treatment. The first patient had ulcerative mucositis, mucosal burning and impaired sensation of taste and swollen swelling. The other patient had neutropenia and toxic mucositis. Both had local and general treatment as well as a diet regimen. During patient hospitalization and outpatient treatment, difficulties have been alleviated.
Conclusions: Professional oral care of cancer patients is very important. It includes not only the treatment of the affected oral mucosa, but also preventive measures and thorough hygiene of the oral cavity. Nurses and doctors, through their responsible attitudes and regular control, make a significant help to identifying the problem, timely treatment, improving the comfort and health of the patient.

Selected Socio-Pathological Phenomena in School Environment and Their Prevention

Abstrakt:
CIELE: Výskumný článok hľadá odpovede na dve otázky: s akými sociálno-patologickými javmi sa stretávame v školskom prostredí a kto zabezpečuje prevenciu pred danými javmi. METÓDY: Metódu zbierania dát pomocou dotazníka sme si zvolili práve preto, že sme chceli bližšie spoznať úprimné názory učiteľov na sociálnu prácu v rezorte školstva a odhaliť sociálno-patologické javy, ktoré sa vyskytujú na týchto školách. Výskum sa nám podarilo uskutočniť na 4 základných školách v Nitrianskom kraji a dotazníky nám vyplnilo 52 učiteľov, z tohto počtu bolo 32 triednych učiteľov a priemerné pôsobenie v pedagogickej praxi bolo 15,8 rokov. Z celkového počtu triednych učiteľov bolo 17 na prvom stupni a 15 na druhom stupni základných škôl.
VÝSLEDKY: Naše zistenia ukazujú na viaceré skutočnosti, ktoré podporujú úvahy o potrebe školskej sociálnej práce. Patrí sem hlavne priznanie učiteľov, že na základných školách sú prítomné sociálno-patologické javy; školskí sociálni pracovníci môžu poskytnúť žiakom podporu, pomáhať im prekonávať problémy vo vzdelávaní spôsobené sociálnymi problémami, pomáhať pri začleňovaní žiakov so špeciálnymi výchovno-vzdelávacími potrebami; vykonávať prevenciu.
IMPLIKÁCIE PRE SOCIÁLNU PRÁCU: Treba si uvedomiť, že škola iba dotvára a formuje výchovný proces, ktorý musí byť v prvom rade vytváraný v domácom prostredí. A tu opäť vidíme miesto, kde by sa vedel sociálny pracovník uplatniť – práca s rodinou žiaka. Školský sociálny pracovník by na školách mal byť v kontakte so žiakmi a ich rodičmi, aby im dokázal reálne pomôcť pri výskyte problému.

Abstract:
AIMS: The research article seeks answers to these two questions: What socio-pathological phenomena do we encounter in the school environment? Who provides prevention against these phenomena?
METHODS: We have chosen the method of data collection using a questionnaire precisely because we wanted to get to know the teachers’ honest opinions on social work in the education sector and to reveal the socio-pathological phenomena that occur in these schools. We have managed to conduct the research at 4 primary schools in the Nitra region – 52 teachers filled in the questionnaires, 32 of which were form tutors, and the average teaching practice was 15.8 years. Of the total number of form tutors, 17 have been teaching at the first level and 15 at the second level of primary schools.
RESULTS: Our findings point to several facts which support reflection on the need for school social work. This particularly includes the teachers’ acknowledgement that socio-pathological phenomena are present in primary schools – school social workers can provide support to pupils, help them to overcome educational problems caused by social problems, help to integrate pupils with special educational needs, and carry out prevention.
IMPLICATIONS FOR SOCIAL WORK: It should be noted that the school only complements and shapes the educational process, which must first and foremost be created in the home environment. And here, again, we see a place where social workers could be of use – working with the student’s family. The school social worker should be in contact with the pupils and their parents in order to really help them in the event of a problem.

Content analysis of documents evaluating behaviour of children in re-education centre

Abstrakt: Prebiehajúca reforma v systéme podpory a intervencie pre detí s poruchami správania má svoje vyústenie do vnútorných dokumentov v reedukačných centrách. Predkladaná štúdia si kladie za cieľ analyzovať hodnotiace systémy základného súboru. Ide o formálne porovnanie dokumentov z hľadiska cieľov, štruktúry textu. Výsledky štúdie naznačujú rôznorodosť v štruktúrovaní textu. Vnútorná kongruencia je ťažko uchopiteľná. Prevažuje hodnotenie správania detí pomocou bodovej stupnice v rozsahu plusových až mínusových bodov v dennom a týždňovom hodnotení. V závere rovnako zmieňujeme analýzu dokumentov a rozdiely medzi nimi.

Abstract: Ongoing reform within the system of support and intervention for children with conduct disorders has its outcomes in internal documents in re-education centres. Presented study aims to analyse evaluation systems from the core sample. There is a formal comparison of documents regarding to their goals, and text structure. The study results indicate variability in the text structuring. Internal congruence is hard to handle. In the daily and weekly evaluation prevails the behaviour evaluation based on the scoring chart within plus and minus points. Furthermore, in the concluding is mentioned contextual factor of the documents and differences among them.

Combining qualitative and quantitative methods in bullying research

Abstrakt: Šikanovanie je jedným z najčastejších sociálno – patologických javov na základných a stredných školách. Možno sa s ním už takmer každý z nás aspoň raz stretol. Či už v pozícii svedka, obete alebo agresora. K problematike šikanovania bolo realizovaných množstvo výskumov. Jednak ide o výskumy na domácej pôde, ale tak isto aj v zahraničí. Pri zbere dát boli vo väčšine prípadov použité dotazníkové nástroje vyhodnotené kvantitatívnymi metódami. Skúmanie šikanovania či už ide o proces šikanovania alebo napríklad o zisťovanie príčin, ktoré ho spúšťajú, prostredníctvom zúčastneného dlhodobého pozorovania však chýba. Každé výskumné metódy majú svoje plusy aj mínusy. V článku budem porovnávať práve metódu pozorovania a dotazníku v kontexte skúmania šikany. Obsah bude doplnený o zistenia, ktoré vzišli z realizácie výskumu, ktorý bol súčasťou mojej dizertačnej práce.

Abstract: Bullying is the often socio - pathological phenomena in primary and secondary schools. Maybe almost every one of us has met this at least once. Whether in the position of a bystander, victim or aggressor. A lot of research has been realized out on the issue of bullying. On the one hand, it is research at home, but in abroad countries too. In most cases, questionnaire tools evaluated by quantitative methods were used for data collection. However, the research of bullying, whether it is a bullying process or, for example, the identification of the causes that trigger it, through participatory long-term observation is absented. Each research method has its pros and cons. In the article I will compare the method of observation and the questionnaire in the context of the research of bullying. The content will be supplemented by findings that results from the research, which was part of my dissertation.
