We live in a world that is becoming more and more globalized and we cannot pretend that we only have our personal, national or European problems. The goal of all of us today is to expand chances and opportunities for every individual. It cannot be overlooked that this chance is limited for many people, which is influenced by many factors. Thanks to the harmonization of the department of social work at the University of Health and Social Work St. Alžbety in Bratislava were appointed guarantors of individual subjects and ranked university teachers in each teaching subject according to accreditation files. The result of the work of the group, which provides the subject Basics of social work, is this publication intended for students, professionals, but also the lay public. We are happy to bring it as an overview and orientation in selected areas of the basics of social work.
