The thesis focuses on the interpretation of irony in Božena Slančíková Timrava's novel Heroes, secondarily linking the issue to the category of narration. It examines the inseparable role of the trope from the perspective of the authorial writing style, as well as its application in the characterization of characters and plots, thereby demonstrating its position as a typical agent in the construction of the prose in question.
