Mills and Milling Craft on the Small Danube

This paper deals with water mills and milling on the Small Danube. Its aim is to present the current state of mills on the Small Danube, which are an irreplaceable part of traditional culture. It contains a typology of wheel and boat mills and a geographical delineation of the area. It then focuses on a description of the wheel mill in Jelka, Tomášikovo, Jahodná, the water mill in Dunajské Klátove, and the boat mill in Kolárovo. The historical method and archival study became the basis for processing the genesis and course of the phenomenon. Field research based on free interviews served to expand knowledge. A SWOT analysis is intended as the basis for using and transforming cultural potential into cultural capital.
