The study was published as part of the implementation of the project „Transfer of Experiences and Good Practices in the Field of Care for People with Dementia and Other Specific Needs“ (PF 168). For quality growth and the search for innovations, it is always beneficial when a given service or system can be compared with a similar service or system. To representatives of social service providers in the Czech Republic, this benefit has brought, for several years, cooperation with partners from the Swiss organization CURAVIVA Schweiz.

The first meeting, which took place as part of study trips to Switzerland, showed that the issue of providing social services (in terms of social and medical care) to people suffering from different types of dementia is very similar in both compared countries. And this is despite the fact that, unlike in the Czech Republic, there are significant differences in the conditions for providing social services to people with dementia in Switzerland, also between individual cantons. While the actual provision itself, individual techniques, innovations and technical solutions of social service facilities offered immediate inspiration for transfer to the Czech Republic, the funding area did bring support to our efforts to thoroughly uncover financial flows in the financing of social services, but also sorrow, because the financing system of these services in Switzerland cannot be transferred to the Czech Republic (at least for now).
