The publication “Bullying and Cyberbullying of Youth” was written by PhDr. Ľudmila Húsková, PhD., who works at the District Headquarters of the Police Force in Martin, where she is a specialist clerk in the prevention group. The book reflects the author’s professional experience in case studies, which are the most original and, from the perspective of crime prevention, the most valuable part of the entire work. At the end of each chapter, an individual solution to the situation is presented on the assumption that legal requirements are met. The positive motivation emerging from the whole book can only help its readers in the future when a child becomes either an aggressor or a victim of unlawful behavior.
The author also covers the psychological topic of aggression, its various manifestations, and its consequences in the process of cyberbullying and the subsequent transfer from the individual to the group. In addition, the author objectively discusses the thematic connection between psychology and law. The point of intersection of both disciplines is their common goal: modifying deviant behavior, and especially protecting society from its consequences, to which this publication should also contribute.
Significant are the chapters on risky behavior of adolescents and youth suicidality, where advice and recommendations are provided for parents as well as helping professions.
The publication is intended as a guide for parents, teachers, special education teachers, school psychologists, and the general public to expand knowledge of this issue in order to enable early detection of the first signs and signals of bullying and cyberbullying.
