Lucie Stuchlíková in her today's contribution on Seznam criticizes the parliament. She is first upset that it does not want to call the union of two persons of the same sex marriage and is outraged that some MPs are resisting this revolutionary step. For example, with the statement that beef is beef and not chicken.
I also resist it. Marriage is a union of a man and a woman, and all other unions may comfortably exist, but they are not called marriage. It is not just a play on words, it is a question of meaning.
On one side is FAMILY and on the other various curiosities, which may find a name for their existence and go by that name.
I have nothing against homosexual couples, I am terrified by the "patchwork" groupings where children have two mommies and four daddies, and also by the fact that the birth rate last year fell below a level never seen before.
It is also unclear to me why Christian values are despicable when morality was built upon them — alongside Aristotle. And morality, as Greene writes, is a set of psychological rules useful so that a community of thoroughly selfish individuals can benefit from the results of common activity. Let us abolish the Ten Commandments and we can start murdering each other on every corner.
Then I also do not understand those people who labeled the Alliance for the Family as an almost militant sect. Is FAMILY really such a disgusting reality that supporting it has an almost anti-state perverse character?
