The presented academic book addresses the issue of management of adult education and educational organizations, as well as the strategy of staff development in educational organizations and marketing management in education. Based on many years of pedagogical and managerial experience, the authors have managed to organize the content of the book systematically and clearly. Thanks to this, the publication is very clear and forms a compact and balanced whole. The authors of the publication work with a large number of relevant and current sources. I consider the topics covered by the authors to be very current and significant. In terms of content, the book is based on general management, which is applied to the area of initial and further education and educational organizations.
The labor market is being transformed as a result of economic, societal, and technological changes during the 21st century, thereby changing the view of understanding education, or rather its importance. The level of attained education is no longer related only to social status, but represents a means of achieving and maintaining an obtained job position.
Educational organizations must, more than ever, adapt their educational offerings to the aforementioned changes in society and the labor market, and become an essential guide in the process of selecting a suitable study program, future field of work, or choosing further professional education that will equip individuals with the competences that bring a satisfying future, and thus a satisfying future for society as a whole.
The topic addressed by the authors represents a valuable contribution in the field of management of adult education and educational organizations. A strength of the presented publication is the clear formulation of specialized terms and the conceptualization of the issue. The authors of the publication characterize education management as a progressive and significant area of scientific research, aimed at understanding the education system and the partial processes of educational strategy and policy – this includes knowledge about developmental trends in managing the education system at the macro level, as well as knowledge about the management of schools, school facilities, and all types of further education organizations. The authors state that education management essentially follows two basic lines – the school line, which is regulated by relevant legislation (so-called school system and school management), and the area of education outside the framework of schools and school facilities.
