The traditional Week of Social Services of the Czech Republic organized by the Association of Social Service Providers of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, which took place this year from 4 to 10 October, was successfully completed. During the past week, conferences, congresses, workshops, fairs of social services, exhibitions, meetings, as well as national open days of social service providers took place all over the Czech Republic. Even though the last two years were affected by the pandemic situation in the Czech Republic, the facility still prepared an interesting program for those interested, adapted to the coronavirus.
The main event of the entire Week of Social Services was the two-day XII. the annual congress of social service providers, which started on Thursday, October 7, in Tábor. As part of Thursday's rich program, which was attended by more than 700 people, the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch, PČR senator Jaroslav Větrovský, member of the PČR Chamber of Deputies Jan Bauer, deputy ombudsman Monika Šimůnková and actress Lilian Malkina spoke.
The governor of Vysočina Region Vítězslav Schrek took part in the morning program, who together with the president of the Association of Social Service Providers of the Czech Republic Jiří Horecký presented and announced the INNOVATION IN SOCIAL SERVICES PRIZE. It is announced and organized by the Association together with 13 regions of the Czech Republic (the capital city of Prague, Středočeský, Jihočeský, Plzeňský, Ústí, Královéhradecký, Pardubický, South Moravian, Olomouc, Zlín, Karlovy Vary, Moravian-Silesian Region and Vysočina Region). The goal of the INNOVATION AWARD is to recognize the best solutions and examples of good practice in the Czech Republic, at the level of regions and social service providers. Friday's congress program was divided into professional sections, namely the economic-operational, social and health sections.
During the gala evening, which was the dividing line of the two days of the congress, the Quality Mark in Social Services certificates were ceremoniously handed over (certificates were awarded to 14 social services facilities), Certified Manager in Social Services diplomas and the first We Can Do It With Dementia certificates to three organizations for systematic employee training. The APSS ČR Prize for long-term contribution to social services was also awarded, which was received this year by Vladimír Hort, a lawyer and lecturer of the APSS ČR and a member of the editorial board of the Social Services magazine.
