Dear readers, we are glad that we can share with you the professional knowledge that is presented in the Proceedings from III. The international scientific conference, which was held on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Detached workplace of M. D. Trčka in Michalovce. The theme of the conference was: "Community care in the helping professions."
The aim of the conference was: • exchange of the latest knowledge in the field of human care, • presentation of research results in the subject area, • direction of community work aimed at helping people in need.
The contributions of individual conference participants relate to social and health care. It is also a requirement of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, which in the National Priorities for the Development of Social Services 2015-2020 set out to "connect the system of social services and health care into the system of long-term health and social care" at the level of individual communities and regions. The scientific contributions listed in the collection testify to the fulfillment of objectives III. of the international scientific conference, which took place on November 10-11, 2016 in Michalovce.
