The presented publication presents not only some partial outputs of the individual researchers of the project VEGA 1/0516/08: Sexual lifestyles of young people and their socio-cultural contexts, but also a scientific seminar entitled "Sexual lifestyles and their transformation" was held as part of the project, where individual researchers of the VEGA project from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as other experts they reported on the given issue, whether at the theoretical, research or application level.
This publication therefore contains contributions that are partial parts in which the researchers participated in the project, as well as other participants of the scientific seminar "Sexual lifestyles and their transformation". ...
The publication is structured into 4 units: 1. Typology of sexual lifestyles and their factors 2. Marriage as one of the sexual lifestyles 3. Gender and social aspects of sexual lifestyles 4. Specifics of selected aspects of sexual lifestyles
The first circuit brings different approaches to typologies of sexual lifestyles in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and the connection of identity styles with sexual behavior.
As part of the first contribution, the author (Marková, Lukšík) presents research findings from a more broadly conceived research that was part of the solution to the VEGA project - Sexual lifestyles and their sociocultural contexts. The presented results relate to the comparison of the sexual lifestyles of men and women of young adulthood, as well as from the point of view of three generations - younger, middle and older adults. The results of the preference of sexual lifestyles in the next 5 years, as well as in life as a whole, are also shown.
Janiš reports on various models of partner coexistence of young people also in connection with ideas about preferred possible models of coexistence.
The typology of possible variants is based on the triad: 1. P - partnership 2. M - marriage 3. R - parenting
Another contribution by Vernarcová summarizes the results of the research that related to the connections between identity styles and sexuality. Here, the author presents an analysis of research findings after the implementation of a sex education program in the area of adolescent identity styles in the context of sexuality. It points to the possibilities of influencing the identity style in the educational environment.
The following thematic unit is dedicated to marriage, which is described by some authors as a separate and conventional sexual lifestyle, and several of its social, psychological and other contexts are analyzed.
In the article on traditional approaches to marriage, the authors Marková and Ďurčeková briefly outline some traditional approaches to marriage in a research perspective, including a historical probe. They present some examples of such research and also outline the specifics of the situation in Slovakia.
The next contribution is the thematically focused on the impact of alcoholism on partner relationships in marriage by Pavelová. In the introduction, some aspects of addiction are outlined, and then the specifics of marriages with an addicted partner are analyzed, including the changes that affect the family system.
The following contribution by Ďurčeková and Marková is devoted to the psychological specifics of the person-centered approach to marriage and its functionality. At the theoretical level, the main starting points of this approach are pointed out, with a focus on specifics in the concept of marriage.
The thematic unit on marriage is closed by a chapter focused on some moral, ideological and non-political issues related to sexuality and marriage. Authors Marková and Jurová present some aspects of the moral discourse, which includes the issue of sexuality and marriage, and point out the necessity of looking at sexual behavior within the socio-historical process and sexual morality in the context of discursive practices of social life.
Gender and sexual aspects of sexual lifestyles are the next overarching thematic block of the publication.
In the first post, Janebová reports on the connections between the sexual lifestyle of female clients and decision-making in social work as part of interventions in the family, which can significantly affect the lives of children, parents and entire families. Analyzes are also presented from a gender perspective.
Haburajová-Ilavská and Gabrielová deal with issues of gender equality in the EU and thus thematize some political frameworks of constructing sexual lifestyles mainly from the point of view of gender politics.
Gender aspects of the Hindu lifestyle, especially the position of women in the Hindu ethical tradition, is thematized by Bartalová. Some starting points and gender aspects of a specific lifestyle are thus outlined.
Lulei presents selected aspects of violent crime and sexual lifestyles in his contribution. The author emphasizes the need to reflect on the current situation in the field of sexual lifestyles, which are a partial part of the family system. It focuses on the relationship between gender, sexual lifestyles and social work oriented to the field of criminal justice.
The issue of some specifics of sexual lifestyles, or of their aspects thematically concludes the contributions of the given publication.
In the order of the first contribution, Mandzáková presents the partial results of research on improving the quality of life of clients with severe mental disabilities in social service homes in Slovakia in the area of sexuality and sexual lifestyles.
Hrozenská accentuates the postmodern lifestyles of older people with regard to the intimacy and sexuality of these people. The author outlines various aspects of the sexual lifestyles of older people.
The last is Terlanday's contribution, which is thematically focused on the lifestyles of young people and sexuality, while the author presents them in the context of the most common topics from the children's line, focusing on two problematic areas: gynecological problems and sexological topics.
