The aim of the first electronic conference, the output of which is the presented proceedings, was to provide a space for the exchange of information, experiences and the latest scientific knowledge in the field of specific learning and behavioral disorders and, in this way, to contribute to the collection of professional knowledge for the sake of effective education and optimal development of persons with special educational needs. Scientific events, conferences, seminars and professional working meetings in the field of special pedagogical care have their own tradition in Slovakia. Our intention is to contribute to this tradition with professional and scientific contributions in the field of inclusive education of students with specific learning and behavioral disorders.
Inclusive education of pupils with special educational needs is already a reality in Slovakia today. An inclusive classroom is a classroom in which students with disabilities or impairments feel that they have their place, that they are part of everything that happens. Creating well-being and creativity classes for students with specific learning and behavioral disorders requires changes in the concept of teacher competence.
We are holding the first electronic conference at the Department of Special Education of the Faculty of Education of Prešov University not only for narrowly specialized experts, but also for a wider forum of educators and other experts in the field of specific learning and behavioral disorders. With the contributions presented, in addition to scientific contribution or inspiration for our own work, we want to show new tendencies in practical-educational areas in working with students with specific learning and behavioral disorders.
Finally, I would like to thank all the authors of the main papers, the authors of contributions and the organizational team that participated in the preparation of the collection for their creative work.
