Deprivation of Roma households in selected towns of Žilina region The issue of poverty and deprivation is a current topic that continually resonates in society. The greatest attention to poverty and household deprivation is paid on the national level or at regional and district levels. Monitoring poverty and household deprivation at the level of towns and municipalities receives minimal or quite limited attention, mainly due to the low availability of existing data or their complete absence. One of the sources capturing household situations at municipal level and their city districts is the census of persons, homes, and apartments. The aim of the paper is to draw attention to the polarization of households affected by deprivation in household/apartment facilities, unemployment, and above-average numbers of people living in a household, as well as other socioeconomic indicators at municipal level in selected cities of the Žilina region with an emphasis on households whose members identify as Romani.
