Publication Communication in Social Work - Development of Communication Competence of Social Workers

Through the publication Communication in Social Work (Development of Communication Competence of Social Workers) we address students who are preparing at various levels of pre-graduate university education for professional practice in the social field. We also turn to professionals whose work is focused on adult education and counseling within social work. The publication may also interest lay readers, since the topic of communication is vitally important for every person.

We have compiled the publication to serve as a manual for readers in their own activities as educators, lecturers, and social counselors for adults. Social workers can contribute to raising the level of social work in practice also by applying their communication competence.

The text is the result of our long-term (approximately 20 years) conceptual, methodological, lecturing, and educational work carried out in the field of further adult education, in many organizations and for diverse target groups, including disadvantaged and marginalized groups, in the Slovak Republic.
