The conference "Innovations, Planning and Quality of Social Services" was held in 2011 in Ružomberok as a call for the creation of community plans with an emphasis on the process, which is undoubtedly important for a practically feasible community plan.
FOREWORD
Attention has been paid to the planning of social services in the Slovak Republic since the adoption of the Act on Social Services. Community planning and the creation of community plans are undertaken by towns and municipalities together with their experts in the field of social services; individual community plans build on the National Priorities for the Development of Social Services and the Concepts of Self-Governing Regions.
The conference "Innovations, Planning and Quality of Social Services" was held as a call for the creation of community plans with an emphasis on the process, which is undoubtedly important for a practically feasible community plan.
The aim of the conference was to highlight specific steps in community planning, the various risks in the process of creation and implementation, current ESF strategies and tools for the area of social services in the Slovak Republic, the Intentions of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic in the field of social services, modern tools in the social assistance system, community planning and concepts of social services development, quality management systems and quality standards in social services.
We expect that constructive discussion on the topic will lead to the creation of methodologies for community plans in the Slovak Republic.
The proceedings are an output of the GAPF project no. 1/12/2010 – The Importance of Community Planning at the Level of Higher Territorial Units of the Slovak Republic.
