The international scientific and professional conference was held on April 7, 2022 in Košice, and the proceedings are the output of this conference.

A social counselor provides basic or specialized social counseling and thus meets a number of clients on a daily basis, whom he tries to help solve their social problems. The basic goal of aid is to effect change. The process of change brings various pitfalls, which is why meeting for the exchange of experience and professional growth is essential in professional practice.

The year 2022, after the pandemic situation, showed the direction of meetings also in an online form, therefore the meeting, which was held in the premises of VŠZaSP St. Elizabeth, Institute of St. Z.Ch. Mallu in Košice and the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University in Ružomberok.

The aim of this activity VŠZaSP St. Alžbety in cooperation with the Catholic University in Ružomberok, the Faculty of Theology in Košice, the Department of Social Sciences, the Comenius University, the Faculty of Pedagogy, the Department of Social Work, Bratislava, the Palacký University in Olomouc, the Cyril Methodist Theological Faculty, the Greek Catholic Charity Prešov and OZ Zrkadlenie, Gelnica, is to realize an annual meeting of experts and clients of social and health work in one place to map out concrete practice cases from both points of view. On the one hand, from the point of view of the experts, through the forms of help and the methods used, the course of the process during the implementation of the help as well as the relational level between the helper and the client, and on the other hand from the client's point of view. The client himself tells about the areas that were implemented for the benefit of the client, about the feelings that accompanied the change in the client. In the meeting, some problems that occur in connection with care and assistance to clients are characterized and edited precisely with the possibility of influencing their tools, either in legislative or procedural proceedings.

Every year, the meeting brings together examples of good practice in the areas of social protection and social guardianship, social services, addictions, crisis interventions, as well as experience in providing social counseling with different types of clients. The year 2022 was enriched with practical techniques that the participants experienced and practiced, and they can use the practiced techniques in everyday practice.

The collection presents case studies of social work clients themselves, experts working with clients in various fields, as well as those that did not fit into the Conference program, but represent a valuable version of the way to approach the work, practice and evaluation of the results of work with the client.

In the end, by evaluating the results of the feedback after the meeting, both the organizers and the participants agreed to continue in the next year.
