You are receiving a collection of contributions from the international ecumenical conference on the topic: Pastoral care of the Roma, challenges and solutions, which was held at the Faculty of Theology in Košice, Catholic University in Ružomberok in cooperation with the Municipality of Košice and KSK.
Pastoring the Roma is demanding and demanding. Many times it appears to be fruitless. The efforts of those who work among the Roma often seem useless to many. They perceive it as a senseless investment of human strength, energy, financial and material resources without an adequate effect. Many people do not lose hope and are willing to devote their time and their lives to the Roma and thus slowly change the situation. We realize that it takes a long time, but it can be done. Our International Ecumenical Conference wants to reflect on the importance of Pastoral care of the Roma and point out the challenges and solutions from the point of view of the church and religious societies in Košice and the surrounding area.
I believe that this conference will contribute to the enrichment of our knowledge and will also bring new knowledge to our common efforts for the spiritual good of those entrusted to us, as well as our entire society.
