Dear colleagues,
We present to you the proceedings of the professional all-Slovak conference entitled Human trafficking - prevention, research, practice, which took place on October 23, 2013 in the premises of the Regional Education Center in Nitra.
The STORM association, as the main organizer, is gradually fulfilling the effort to create a tradition in Slovakia, an open discussion forum and a space for experts from practice and academia to meet.
October 18 - European Day against Trafficking in Human Beings is also an important moment to draw our attention to this issue.
The STORM association has been developing programs to help people in risky life situations for a decade.
In addition to working directly with clients at risk of human trafficking, organizing such a conference fulfills the basic goals of the National Program to Combat Human Trafficking. It participates in ensuring a comprehensive and effective strategy that will support the development of mutual understanding and coordinated activities of all important entities with the aim of preventing risks and preventing the commission of a crime.
At the same time, it strives to provide first contact and quick help to possible victims of human trafficking and thereby ensure the protection of their human rights and dignity.
In the collection, the authors present their own opinions on this topic from a theoretical and practical perspective. At the same time, they encourage creative discussion and exchange of experience from various fields and document the current efforts and orientation of experts to improve the quality of assistance in this area.
Professional as well as the lay public, as well as academic workers and university students, can find a range of valuable knowledge and information on the issue in the collection, as well as inspiration for work in Slovakia.
We believe that the collection will be of benefit and interesting reading for all those who are not indifferent to the fight against human trafficking.
