Basic ethical principles and their acceptance in the care of seniors

Abstrakt: Dodržiavanie etických princípov by malo byť základnou súčasťou starostlivosti o seniorov. V klinickej praxi sa však stretávame so situáciami, kedy sú tieto princípy neakceptované. Najčastejšie ide o nedodržanie základných etických princípov pri realizovaní starostlivosti o geriatrických pacientov. V príspevku prezentujeme, ktoré etické princípy bývajú v klinickej praxi najčastejšie nedodržané a pri akých situáciách. Ponúkame aj komparáciu najčastejších etických problémov na Slovensku a v zahraničí. Údaje sme získali prostredníctvom zmiešaného výskumu a trianguláciou metód- dotazník, narrative review. Po spracovaní výsledkov sme zistili, že najčastejšie sa neakceptuje princíp autonómie, pri poskytovaní akútnej starostlivosti, v súčasnosti spojenej s pandémiou COVID 19 ako aj princíp spravodlivosti. Pri starostlivosti o terminálne chorých geriatrických pacientov to bol princíp beneficiencie (prospešnosti).

Abstract: Adherence to ethical principles should be an essential part of caring for the elderly. In clinical practice, we encounter situations where these principles are unaccepted. Most often it is a non-acceptance of basic ethical principles in the implementation of care for geriatric patients. In the article we present which ethical principles are most often not observed in clinical practice and in which situations. We also offer a comparison of the most common ethical issues in Slovakia and abroad. We obtained the results through mixed research and triangulation of methods - questionnaire, narrative review. After processing the results, we found that the principle of autonomy is most often not accepted. It was the provision of acute care, currently associated with the COVID 19 pandemic, as well as the principle of justice. In the care of terminally ill geriatric patients, this was the principle of beneficience.

Loneliness of social work clients in the senior age

Abstrakt: Osamelosť a frustráciu zažíva v súčasnosti mnoho ľudí po celom svete. Medzi najohrozenejšie skupiny patria aj ľudia v dôchodkovom veku. Príspevok obsahuje popis dôležitých súvislostí spojených s prežívaním samoty a depresívnych stavov u klientov domova dôchodcov, ktoré majú vplyv na celkové zdravie daných klientov. Súčasťou príspevku je aj krátky kvalitatívny prieskum.

Abstract: Many people around the world are currently experiencing loneliness and frustration. Retired people are also among the most vulnerable groups. The article contains a description of important connections associated with the experience of loneliness and depressive states in clients of a retirement home, which affect the overall health of the clients. The paper also includes a short qualitative survey.

The importance of education of social workers in the issue of diseases of civilization

Abstrakt:
Východiská: Vo výskume, sme si stanovili ciele, na základe ktorých zisťujeme, aká veľká miera záujmu sociálnych pracovníkov je o vzdelávanie v problematike civilizačných ochorení, a o akú formu vzdelávania by mali záujem. Taktiež nás zaujímalo, či by nadobudnuté poznatky z takejto formy vzdelávania, sociálni pracovníci využili v praxi pri práci s klientmi, a na akej úrovni sú ich doterajšie nadobudnuté poznatky z oblasti civilizačných chorôb.
Súbor a metódy: Súbor pozostával zo 111 respondentov, z toho 93 žien a 18 mužov. Pre náš výskum sme oslovili nezávislú, nepolitickú, samosprávnu, profesijnú organizáciu, ktorá združuje sociálnych pracovníkov a asistentov sociálnej práce v Slovenskej republike, Slovenskú komoru sociálnych pracovníkov a asistentov sociálnej práce. Na zber údajov sme si zvolili neštandardizovaný dotazník, ktorý obsahoval otvorené, polootvorené, uzatvorené, dichotomické otázky, aj otázky, ktoré poskytovali viacero možností. Zber údajov prebehol začiatkom novembra 2020.
Výsledky: Pomocou nášho výskumu sa nám podarilo dokázať, že vzdelávanie v problematike civilizačných ochorení by mohlo byť pre mnohých členov komory prínosné, významné a potrebné. Sociálni pracovníci majú záujem o vzdelávanie v problematike civilizačných ochorení.
Záver: Sociálni pracovníci ohodnotili svoje vedomosti ako priemerné, a zároveň vyzdvihli potrebu ďalšieho vzdelávania v tejto problematike. Predpokladajú, že klienti, ktorí trpia niektorým typom civilizačných ochorení, majú záujem o služby v rámci poskytovania informácií a možnej prevencii svojho ochorenia prostredníctvom sociálneho pracovníka, ktorý by bol špecializovaný v danej problematike.

Abstract:
Background: In research, we set the objectives on which we find how much the interest of social workers is about education in the issue of civilization diseases, and what form of education should be interested. It was also wondering whether acquired knowledge of such forms of education, social workers used in practice at work with clients, and at which the level of acquired knowledge from civilization diseases.
Company and methods: The file consisted of 111 respondents, of which 93 women and 18 men. We have addressed an independent, non-soluble, self-governing, professional organization for our research, which combines social workers and social work assistants in the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Social Workers Chamber and Social Work Assistants. For data collection, we have chosen a non-standardized questionnaire that contained open, closed, closed, dichotomical issues, and questions that provide multiple options. Data collection run over November 2020.
Results: Using our research, we managed to prove that education in the issue of civilization diseases could be beneficial, significant and necessary for many chamber members. Social workers are interested in education in the issue of civilization diseases.
Conclusion: Social workers rated their knowledge as average, while picking up the need for further education in this issue. They assume that clients who suffer from some types of civilization diseases are interested in services within the provision of information and possible prevention of their disease through a social worker who would be specialized in the problem of the issue.

Leave or stay in a relationship? What ethical dilemmas do young people face in relationships?

Abstrakt: V texte sú prezentované parciálne výsledky komplexnejšieho výskumu o intimite mladých ľudí, ktoré sa týkajú etických dilem v oblasti párových vzťahov. V tomto článku sme sa zamerali na tie výsledky, ktoré sú zamerané na kategorizáciu etických dilem v oblasti partnerských vzťahov, deskripciu týchto kategórií a subkategórií, ktorými sú sýtené. Jednotlivé kategórie sme konštruovali na základe voľných odpovedí na otvorené otázky, získané prostredníctvom dotazníka, od 315 respondentov a respondentiek mladšieho dospelého veku a adolescencie. Naše výsledky poukazujú na diverzitu etických dilem, ktorými sa muži a ženy v ich partnerských a sexuálnych vzťahoch zaoberajú. Príspevok vznikol v rámci riešenia projektu APVV-18-0303: „Medzníky v tranzíciách intímnych vzťahov a kvalita života v období adolescencie a mladej dospelosti“.

Abstract: The text presents partial results of comprehensive research on the intimacy of young people, which relate to ethical dilemmas in the field of couple relationships. In this article, we have focused on those results that focus on the categorization of ethical dilemmas in the field of partnerships, a description of these categories and the subcategories with which they are saturated. We constructed particular categories on the basis of free answers to open questions obtained through a questionnaire from 315 respondents of younger adult age and adolescence. Our results point to the diversity of ethical dilemmas that men and women deal with in their partnerships and sexual relationships. The paper was created within the project APVV-18-0303: "Milestones in transitions in intimate relationships and quality of life in adolescence and young adulthood“

On the defense of ethical management as an economically effective approach to human resource management

Abstrakt: Štúdia vychádza zo zdôvodneného predpokladu o potrebe formulovať a obhajovať normatívne požiadavky aplikovanej manažérskej etiky s väčším ohľadom na vecnú, ekonomickú stránku manažmentu. V zmysle tohto zámeru sa štúdia sa snaží sformulovať realistickú argumentáciu, prečo etický manažment, založený na egalitárnom, férovom, dialogickom a participatívnom prístupe k zamestnancom, môže byť ekonomicky efektívnejší spôsob riadenia ľudí a práce než ten neetický, založený na autokratickom a direktívnom prístupe. Predložená argumentácia sa týka sféry komunikácie, získavania a výmeny informácii, ich vyhodnocovania a využitia v manažérskom rozhodovaní.

Abstract: The study is based on the justified assumption of the need to formulate and defend normative requirements of applied managerial ethics with greater regard to the factual, economic side of management. In this sense, the study seeks to formulate a realistic argumentation why ethical management, based on an egalitarian, fair, dialogic and participatory approach to employees, may be economically more efficient way of managing people and work than an unethical one, based on an autocratic and directive approach. The presented argumentation concerns the sphere of communication, acquisition and exchange of information, their evaluation and use in managerial decision-making.

Education as a part of nursing documentation of surgical patients

Abstrakt:
Úvod: Edukácia chirurgického pacienta je nevyhnutnou súčasťou poskytovanej ošetrovateľskej starostlivosti. Edukačné aktivity sestry u pacienta majú byť dokumentované v edukačnom edukačnom zázname, ktorý je súčasťou ošetrovateľskej dokumentácie pacienta.
Cieľ: Článok je zameraný na legislatívne aspekty zdravotnej a ošetrovateľskej dokumentácie a nevyhnutnosť vedenia edukačných záznamov. V článku sú prezentované výsledky prieskumu, ktorého cieľom bolo zistiť, aká je úroveň údajov týkajúcich sa edukácie chirurgických pacientov zaznamenaných v ošetrovateľskej dokumentácii.
Materiál a metódy: Na zber údajov bola použitá retrospektívna obsahová analýza dokumentov so zameraním na ošetrovateľskú dokumentáciu u hospitalizovaných pacientov. Analýze bolo podrobených 74 ošetrovateľských dokumentácií pacientov.
Výsledky: Samostatný edukačný záznam obsahovalo 58 ošetrovateľských dokumentácií pacientov. Nedostatky boli zistené pri formulovaní edukačných diagnóz a evidovaní obsahového zamerania edukácie. Pozitívne možno hodnotiť skutočnosť, že vedenie údajov o edukácii bolo v súlade s platnou legislatívou.
Záver: Dokumentovanie edukačných aktivít sestier je možné zlepšiť využívaním formulárov pre edukačný záznam. Z každého edukačného záznamu by malo byť zrejmé, o čom a v akom rozsahu bol pacient poučený. Osobitne významným aspektom edukačných záznamov je právna ochrana sestier.

Abstract:
Introduction: Surgical patient education is an essential part of the provided nursing care. The nurse's educational activities with the patient are documented in the patient education plan, which is part of the patient's nursing documentation.
Aim: The article is focused on the legislative aspects of medical and nursing documentation and the need to keep educational records. The article presents the results of a survey, the aim of which was to find out what is the level of data that relate to the education of surgical patients recorded in the nursing documentation.
Material and methods: Retrospective content analysis of documents with a focus on nursing documentation in hospitalized patients was used for data collection. 74 patients nursing documentation records were analyzed.
Results: A separate educational record contained 58 nursing documentation of patients. Deficiencies were found in the formulation of educational diagnoses and recording the content focus of education. The fact that the management of data on education was in accordance with the valid legislation can be assessed positively.
Conclusion: Documentation of educational activities of nurses can be improved by using forms for educational record. It should be clear from each educational record what and to what extent the patient was instructed. A particularly important aspect of educational records is the legal protection of nurses.

Gamification evolution in education in the period of Covid-19

Abstrakt: Článek se zabývá rozvojem gamifikace ve vzdělávání v době pandemie nemoci Covid-19. Vysvětluje pojetí gamifikace jako využívání herních prvků ve vzdělávání. Představuje dílčí výsledky výzkumu týmu Univerzity Karlovy, katedry andragogiky a managementu vzdělávání pedagogické fakulty, zkoumající využívání herních prvků v době pandemie. Poukazuje na poměrně nízké využívání gamifikace a shrnuje bariéry, které se pravděpodobně podílely na rozhodování, zda gamifikaci aplikovat.

Abstract: The article deals with the development of gamification in education during the Covid-19 pandemic. It explains the concept of gamification as the use of game elements in education. It presents partial results of research by the team of Charles University, Department of Andragogy and Education Management, Faculty of Education, examining the use of game elements during a pandemic. It points to the relatively low use of gamification and summarizes the barriers that are still involved in deciding whether to apply gamification.

Hidden potential of virtual co-teaching

Abstrakt: Článek se zabývá novou metodou virtuálního co-teachingu. Zasazuje metodu virtuálního co-teachingu do kontextu didaktických metod. Představuje různé kategorie klasického co-teachingového pojetí a vysvětluje obdobné využití nové metody co-teachingu s virtuální složkou. Shrnuje potenciál metody virtuálního co-teachingu, který je příslibem do budoucna. Informuje o výzkumu efektivity virtuální co-teachingové metody, který realizuje tým Univerzity Karlovy, katedry andragogiky a managementu pedagogické fakulty.

Abstract: The article deals with a new method of virtual co-teaching. It places the method of virtual co-teaching in the context of didactic methods. The status of women and social-cultural specifications in an intercultural partnership with a man professing the islamic religion

Abstrakt: Tento článek popisuje výsledky výzkumu, který byl zaměřen na zmapování problematiky postavení českých žen v interkulturních partnerských vztazích s mužem vyznávajícím islámskou víru a na sociálně-kulturní specifika s tímto vztahem spojená. K zmapování interkulturního vztahu byly využity výpovědi šesti respondentek, které měly osobní zkušenost s interkulturním partnerským vztahem tohoto charakteru. Z výpovědí respondentek se podařilo identifikovat specifické jednání, které je charakteristické pro interkulturní vztahy, v nichž se nachází muž vyznávající islámskou víru. Toto specifické jednání má dle našich zjištění pravděpodobně původ v sociálních a náboženských návycích těchto mužů, které si přinášejí ze zemí původu. Námi zjištěné výsledky šetření byly diskutovány s dostupnými zdroji zaměřenými na zkoumanou problematiku. Výsledky mohou napomoci pro lepší orientaci sociálních pracovníků, policistů a dalších pomáhajících profesí při případné intervenci v prostředí interkulturních rodin.

Abstract: This article describes results of the research that has been focused on the the survey of problematics related to role of Czech women in intercultural relationship / partnership with man professing Islamic religion and also on socio - cultural specification related to these relationship. 6 female respondents that has had personal experience with intercultural relationships of this specific kind and their testimonies have been used in the survey. Specific behaviour that has been characteristic for intercultural relatioships where one of the partners has been professing Islamic religion has been identified from the testimonies of the Czech female respondents. In accordance to our survey and findings, this specific behaviour probably originates in the social and religious habits of these islamic male partners that have been taken, carried over from their country of origin. The results of the survey were discussed with available sources focused on the researched issues.The results can be used as a help of social workers, policemen and related professionals in the possible intervention in the field and environment of multicultural families and partnerships.

Experience of mountain rescuers – interpretive phenomenological analysis

Abstrakt: V predkladanom článku sme sa snažili porozumieť prežívaným skúsenostiam horských záchranárov. V kontexte práce s cieľom objasniť skutočnosti, ktoré môžu súvisieť s výrokom jedného z participantov, a to: „byť horský záchranár,“ predstavíme teoretické východiská a analýzu výskumných štúdií. Výskumné otázky boli zamerané na skúsenosti a profesijnú cestu horského záchranára. Kvalitatívne údaje, získané z rozhovorov, boli analyzované pomocou interpretatívnej fenomenologickej analýzy. V empirickej časti sme odhalením špecifických zložiek v konkrétnom životnom príbehu identifikovali päť hlavných tém: Motivácia, Riziko, Učenie, Poslanie a Tímová práca. Výsledky kvalitatívnej štúdie poskytujú poznatky z hľadiska životných skúseností horských záchranárov a uvádzajú odporúčania pre potenciálny výskum a prax.

Abstract: We have tried to understood the experiences of mountain rescuers in this diploma work. Within the context of the work to clarify the fact, which can relate to the quotation of one of the participants such as: „to be a mountain rescuer“ we will introduce the theoretical starting point of experience phenomenon and analysis of research studies. Research questions were aimed at the experiences and profession path of the rescuer. Qualitative data collected by making interviews were analyzed by interpretive phenomenological analysis. By revealing the specific parts in a particular life story we have identified five main topics: Motivation, Risk, Learning, Mission and Teamwork. The results of qualitative study provide the knowledges from the insight of life experiences of mountain rescuers and provide recommendation for the potential research and practice.

Analysis of the needs of social services by the citizens of the Zilina self-governing region

Abstrakt: Poskytovanie sociálnych služieb sa v rámci SR riadi legislatívnou normou platnou od roku 2008. V nej sú jasne dané povinnosti poskytovateľa a prijímateľa sociálnych služieb. V našom výskume realizovaného pre potreby tvorby koncepcie rozvoja sociálnych služieb sme sa zaujímali o potrebe poskytovania, zriaďovania sociálnych služieb obyvateľov žilinského samosprávneho kraja. V tomto príspevku spracovávame jeden výskumný súbor.

Abstract: The provision of social services in the Slovak Republic is governed by a legislative standard valid since 2008. It clearly states the obligations of the provider and recipient of social services. In our research carried out for the needs of creating a concept for the development of social services, we were interested in the need to provide, establish social services for the inhabitants of the Zilina self-governing region. In this paper we process one research file.

Registered social enterprise as one of the forms of employment of people with disabilities

Abstrakt: Registrovaný sociálny podnik je jedným z aktívnych nástrojov politiky zamestnanosti na SR. Je to jedna z foriem zamestnateľnosti ľudí so zdravotným znevýhodnením. Sociálne podnikanie na Slovensku upravuje zákon NR SR č. 112/2018 Z.z. o sociálnej ekonomike a sociálnych podnikoch a o zmene a doplnení niektorých zákonov v znení neskorších predpisov. Registrovaný sociálny podnik napĺňa poskytovanie akejkoľvek spoločensky prospešnej služby, ktorá je zadefinovaná vo viacerých legislatívnych normách.

Abstract: A registered social enterprise is one of the active instruments of employment policy in Slovak Republic. It is one of the forms of employability of people with disabilities. Social entrepreneurship in Slovakia is regulated by the Act of the National Council of the Slovak Republic no. 112/2018 Coll. on the social economy and social enterprises and on the amendment of certain laws as amended. A registered social enterprise fulfills the provision of any socially beneficial service, which is defined in several legislative norms.

The emerging needs of children and youth

Abstrakt: Cieľom článku je priblížiť súčasnú situáciu detí a mládeže v oblasti novo vynárajúcich sa potrieb, ktoré aktuálne pociťujú. V rámci článku popisujeme výskum, ktorý bol realizovaný ako súčasť diplomovej práce. Výskum bol realizovaný na juhu stredného Slovenska v meste Rimavská Sobota a to konkrétne s participantmi zo Strednej odbornej školy technickej a agropotravinárskej v Rimavskej Sobote, v Centre pre deti a rodiny Rimavská Sobota, v Centre voľného času Relax a v Základnej škole Dobšinského Rimavská Sobota. Celkový počet participantov bol 89 pričom vek participantov sa pohyboval v rozmedzí od 12 do 17 rokov. Zámerom tohto zisťovania bolo zistiť potreby detí a mládeže priamo od detí a mládeže výskumným skúmaním s prihliadaním na ich komfort. V rámci kvalitatívnej stratégie sme využili metódu polo-štruktúrovaného rozhovoru v rámci fokusovej skupiny.
Naše zistenia je možné využiť v oblasti vzdelávania v sociálnej práci v zorientovaní sa v situácii detí a mládeže v Rimavskej Sobote a ako podklad na písanie publikácií týkajúcich sa novej generácie detí a ich potrieb.

Abstract: The aim of the article is to bring closer the current situation of children and youth in the field of emerging needs that they currently feel. In the article we describe the research that was carried out as part of the thesis. The research was carried out in the south of central Slovakia in the town of Rimavská Sobota, specifically with participants from the Secondary Vocational School of Technology and Agri-Food in Rimavská Sobota, the Rimavská Sobota Center for Children and Families, the Relax Leisure Center and the Dobšinský Primary School in Rimavská Sobota. The total number of participants was 89, with the age of participants ranging from 12 to 17 years. The purpose of this survey was to identify the needs of children and young people directly from children and young people through research, taking into account their comfort. As part of the qualitative strategy, we used the method of semi-structured interview within the focus group. Our findings can be used in the field of education in social work to orientate oneself in the situation of children and youth in Rimavská Sobota and as a basis for writing publications concerning the new generation of children and their needs.

Trust as an important factor of patient's mental well-being during hospitalization

Abstrakt:
Východiská: Na súbore 190 pacientov s kardiovaskulárnym ochorením (KVO) sme zisťovali uspokojovanie vybraných psychosociálnych potrieb počas hospitalizácie. Zamerali sme sa na úroveň dôvery pacientov voči zdravotníckemu personálu. Súbor sme na základe stupňa dôvery rozdelili na skupinu pacientov s vysokou a priemernou úrovňou dôvery k zdravotníckemu personálu.
Súbor a metódy: Súbor pozostával zo 190 pacientov, z toho bolo 59 žien a 131 mužov. Na zber údajov sme použili neštandardizovaný dotazník, zostavený pre potreby tohto výskumu, ktorý obsahoval otvorené, polootvorené a škálované položky. Vyhli sme sa eticky sporným položkám. Návratnosť dotazníkov bola 100%.
Výsledky: V našom súbore pacientov vykazovalo 26% priemernú úroveň a 74% pacientov vysokú úroveň dôvery voči zdravotníckemu personálu. Pri porovnávaní výsledkov hodnotenia spokojnosti medzi skupinami sme zistili štatisticky signifikantné rozdiely vo vnímaní uspokojovania vybraných psychosociálnych potrieb.
Záver: Pacienti s priemernou úrovňou dôvery počas hospitalizácie intenzívnejšie vnímali stres, slabšie hodnotili podporu zo strany zdravotníkov, horšie hodnotili úroveň komunikácie a prístup personálu, udávali nižšiu mieru informovanosti o ochorení a liečbe, hodnotili uspokojovanie psychických potrieb počas hospitalizácie ako nedostatočné.

Abstract:
Introduction: Trust can be defined as relying on others, a certain expectation of future situations, an authentic relationship with clear communication. During patient care, it does not make sense to look for a focus of cooperation unless a sufficiently confidential and open relationship is established. A good relationship between the patient and the nurse has a great influence on the patient's perception of the disease and treatment. Trust is a part of the emotional support, it is the basis of mutual productive communication in the relationship between nurse and patient.
Aims: In this cross-cestional study we addressed 190 patients with cardiovascular diseases (CVD), we wanted to evaluete the level of patients' trust in nursing staff during the nursing process, and we also verified the satisfaction of psychosocial needs during hospitalization.
Methods: At the Department of Acute Cardiology and Coronary Unite, In the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Bratislava. In this cross-sectional study we used a non-standardized questionnaire to collect data and evaluete the trust and satisfaction of psychosocial needs in 190 patients with CVD.
Results: In this study, 26% of patients had an average level and 74% of patients a high level of trust in nursing staff. Based on the comparison of responses between groups, we found statistically significant values at the level of significance α = 0.05 in the perception of psychosocial needs. The age of the patients was 57.38 ± 9.59 (SD) years, 69% of respondents were men and 31% were women. The length of hospital stay was 4.8 ± 3.03 (SD) days.
Conclusion: Clinical practice in the acute ward and intensive care unit places increased demands on the nurse not only on professional skills, but also on the holistic perception of the patient. In clinical practice, it is necessary for the nurse to approach the patient holistically, to know and accept his needs in all areas. If healthcare professionals do not take a holistic approach, the patient may feel uninterested. This can greatly disrupt patient-nurse relationships and thus impair collaboration. By using psychosocial interventions, the nurse contributes to comprehensive nursing care, to a better relationship between the nurse and the patient, and thus to higher trust on the part of the patient. By gaining trust, it contributes to the optimization of the treatment process, easier solution of the patient's problems by the nursing staff.

Astrocyty jsou pomocné buňky hvězdicovitého tvaru (astrum = hvězda), které jsou hlavně významné pro zásobování neuronů všemi potřebnými látkami od glukózy až po vodu, také se zásadním způsobem podílejí na opravných pochodech a jak se nyní ukazuje, mohou s farmakologickým přispěním pomoci ovlivnit koktavost.

Striatum je oblast mozku hluboko zanořené šedé hmoty a jeho hlavní význam je v regulaci volních pohybů.

Koktavost projevující se od dětství je spojena s nadbytkem neurotransmiteru dopaminu ve striatu. Neuroleptikum nazvané risperidon snižuje množství dopaminu v mozku a je využíváno při léčbě poruch způsobených (mimo jiné také) nadbytkem dopaminu. Vědci z Riversade University v Kalifornii a amerického Národního ústavu zdraví zjistili, že podání risperidonu vede ke zvýšené aktivitě astrocytů ve striatu a tím se snižují koncentrace dopaminu a zlepšuje verbální projev postižených osob.
